2027: APC Chieftain, Barrister Kunle Sulyman advocates power shift to Kwara North
The agitation for the 2027 Kwara North Agenda has continued to gain momentum as another Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress APC, Lawyer Kunle Sulyman advocated a power shift to the northern part of the state to produce the next Governor.
Lawyer Kunle’s advocacy in support of the Kwara North Agenda in 2027 was made at a political meeting with stakeholders in ilorin, the state capital.
According to the elder statesman man the need for the Kwara northern part of the state to produce the next governor becomes imperative in the interest of equity, fairness and justice.
He explained that the region had only held the governorship for a brief period of two years during the tenure of Shaaba Lafiagi, before his administration was abruptly terminated by military intervention.
“In the spirit of equity, justice, and fairness, it was only right that the north be given another opportunity to produce the next governor, thereby correcting the historical imbalance and promoting unity within the state”
Lawyer Kunle who is also the Chairman of the Governor’s Advisory Council, GAC dismissed claim by a few others that the state Governor, His Excellency Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is not carrying stakeholders along in the runnings of his administration.
“When the Governor came on board, he set up the Governor’s Advisory Council. I was unanimously chosen as Chairman. Nurudeen Mohammed was selected as Vice Chairman, Oloriewe Raheem Adedoyin as Secretary, and Moshood Mustapha (MM) as a member. We collectively advise the Governor. So how can anyone call him a sole administrator”, the political juggernaut queried.
The experienced and grassroots politician also praised Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for transforming Kwara State through the ongoing urban renewal projects, adding that anyone visiting Kwara today would immediately notice the unprecedented development across sectors.
Since 1999, the Kwara Central would have occupied the governorship seat for 20 years by 2027, the Kwara South 8 years while the Kwara North has never tasted the position.
